After training – The perfect shower for relaxation

After the grueling workout, I drag myself to the locker room. My legs are burning, sweat is sticking to me. I turn on the shower, first cold, then warm. The water cascades over my shoulders and neck, washing away all the dirt and exertion. I breathe deeply, consciously. My herbal shower gel smells of eucalyptus and mint – the scent instantly calms me. I close my eyes and let the water run over my face and chest. For a few minutes, there's only the sound of the water, the warmth, and my breath. Everything else fades away. I feel light, clean, alive. Simply grateful that I pushed my body to this point again today.
In the shower, I think about the guys on the team. How we always high-five each other after the game, pump each other up, pat each other on the back. There's so much trust. I can see their faces – Max's broad grin when he scores a goal, the calm way Luca always listens when someone has something to say. I like them all so much. Not just as teammates, but really as people. The warm water runs over me and I smile to myself. It feels like this shower washes away all the little arguments and misunderstandings of everyday life. I'm just glad they're here. That we go through these tough training sessions together. That makes me happy, deep down inside.
The hot water hits my shoulders and trickles down my chest and stomach. I lather up the woody shower gel, the scent filling my nostrils. My fingertips glide lightly over my skin—just to spread the foam, but it feels wonderful. The warmth, the touch, the gentle patter… something about it makes my pulse quicken a little. I think back to the changing room earlier, how the boys stood laughing side by side, how their eyes met, that unspoken “we understand each other.” No big words, just that silent understanding. My hand rests on my chest a moment longer than necessary. It tingles slightly—not intensely, just a soft, warm echo of closeness and intimacy.
