Ice hockey fever – A tough training day with the U21 team

We're the U21 ice hockey team, all around 20 years old, and we train like crazy three times a week. Today we have a really intense game against the team from the neighboring city. On the ice, the checks are flying, the pucks are slamming shut, and sweat is pouring. Everyone's giving 100%, muscles are burning, lungs are choking. We fight shoulder to shoulder, shouting encouragement to each other, high-fiving after every good check. In the end, we win 5-3, totally exhausted but ecstatic. In the locker room, helmets are tossed into a corner, jerseys are pulled up to show off the red marks from the puck. "Wow, look how your muscles have grown, bro!" – typical banter, pats on the back, pure team energy. Then a quick group photo on the ice for the club's Instagram account: everyone's chests puffed out with pride, sticks in hand, grinning from ear to ear. An awesome day with the guys.
After the game, the locker room is warm and humid. We peel off our sweaty jerseys and stand there in tight compression pants that really accentuate everything. Someone jokes, "Hey, look at those six-packs, we'll need new jerseys soon!" – Laughter. Our thighs are bulging from all the skating, our six-packs glistening with sweat. While casually posing for a second photoshoot on the ice, we playfully pull up our jerseys or spin around. The photographer shouts, "More energy, guys, show those muscles!" We laugh, flex a little, and nudge each other. Underneath the tight pants, some of us are already showing quite a bit, but that's just sport – all within reason, just that underlying thrill when you realize everyone's really well-built.
