Ice Lions – Pure adrenaline in the four-man bobsleigh

We are the "Ice Lions," a four-person gay bobsleigh team, all between 21 and 26, and today is the World Cup in St. Moritz. 6 a.m.: alarm clock, protein shake, warm-up, equipment check. The track is like glass, minus 18 degrees Celsius, adrenaline pumping. Start practice, then four runs. We fly through the ice channel at 145 km/h, the curves press us into our seats with 5 Gs, helmet to helmet, body to body – pure precision and trust. In the end, third place – not the win, but strong. We hug each other, shout with joy, the coach pats us on the back. A team through and through, whether it's gold or bronze.
The new racing suits are brutally tight – like a second skin of carbon and Lycra. Every line, from the six-pack to the thighs, is clearly visible. As I climb into the bobsled, I feel Leo in front of me, his back against my chest, his backside right in my lap. Finn presses himself against me from behind, his hands on my hips for the starting push. When we're squeezed together in the curve, it's as if we're one body. You can feel the other's heartbeat through the suit, their hot breath on your neck. After the run, we stand at the top, cheeks flushed, suits glistening with frost – and everyone knows that underneath the fabric, everything is pretty… tense. But for now, it's all still sporting, just a few meaningful glances and a faint grin.
